Educate the students about historical importance
The department of history has always played pioneering role, ever science it’s established in the year 1982 with the blessings of Sree Siddalinga Swamigalu. In this department two assistant professors are working 1)M.C.Sudhakara Head of the department 2)B.Ramesh lecturer .it takes pride in its achievements over the past one decade in its multidimensional service being close liaison with students, office, the management and the public. The department is aware of the role of history in the changing context. Hence it has taken giant strides successfully to conduct co-curricular and extracurricular activities, fully student centered. This is its 37th year, the department, apart from teaching the prescribed syllabus, has been conducting a series of special lectures, seminars, workshops and visiting historical places, temples since its inception.
Experimentation in teaching methodology.
Using historical, geographical and political outline maps.
Arranging historical tour, prescribed in syllabus.
Assigning innovative field project work. Creating local historical temples awareness.
The department of history is actively working. It consists of Prof. M.C.Sudhakara HOD, and he is doing PhD degree in Tumkur University on "Historical study of fine Arts in Karnataka a special reference to Tumkur district”. Mr. Ramesh is also working as history faculty from past one decade .department is always encoring students to visit the local historical places ,in 2023 we went kavaledurga, Ikkeree, Jogfalls, Nagarkote, Ecobeach, Shrungere, Honnavara, kavikuvempu house, Shreedhar matta, Murudeshwara, Sharavati hanging bridge. Our students did projects about devarayanadurga, on yoga narasimha and bhoganarasimhaswamy. We organised seminar by experienced scholar prof,chikkanna from Tumkur university on “Responsibility of youth implications of equality, liberty and fraternity in Indian society."
